DO YOU DRESS LIKE A CLOWN?
No. I may wear a funny hat but my personality is actually pretty low-key. The entertainment I provide encourages kids to go crazy with my creations and I'm usually a calm "eye" at the center of the storm. Besides... clowns are creepy. If you're looking for a costumed performer who plays the kazoo, I don't think I'd be a good fit.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
I'm not a corporate mogul, and booking me is refreshingly easy. I don't require a deposit or any form of advanced payment. I accept cash or check the day of the performance, appointments are made on a first come/first served basis. Most Portlanders get it, but accounting departments are sometimes confused by my policy of trust. C'est la vie.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Just $100 an hour for any event in Portland. I ask an appropriate travel fee to leave Portland city limits. And, for birthday parties (of up to 25 kids) I offer a special, 90-minute party package that includes balloons and face painting for just $125. Materials are included, I don't ask for a "set up" fee, and people can ask me for as many balloons as they want.

ARE YOUR BALLOONS PROGRESSIVE?
Balloons don't care about race, gender, orientation, or faith. They come in a variety of colors and have learned to work together, embracing their differences to create a fun and exciting environment for everyone. It doesn't matter whether you lean left or right, my balloons stand tall... confidant that the future begins with progress.

CANCELLATION POLICY?
I make appointments on a basis of trust. Ideally people should give me seven days notice when canceling, but I understand that life's full of surprises. If you need to cancel at the last minute, I hope you'll understand when I ask for a modest cancellation fee. I don't need the full amount of our booking, just $75, payable by check.

WHEN DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?
My standard travel fee is just $25. I enjoy Beaverton, Gresham, Lake Oswego, even Vancouver, and although these neighbours are close, they're not in Portland, so the travel fee does apply. It's helpful to contact  me with a date, time, and address for your event... if you're unsure about those details, let me know and we'll work together to work them out.

ARE YOUR BALLOONS VEGAN?
I sure hope so. Portland is the vegan capitol of the Pacific Northwest, and it'd be weird to imagine balloons made with any kind of animal product! I sometimes make animals out of balloons, but as far as I know latex comes from trees... my creations are biodegradable, contain no high fructose corn syrup, and are both gluten/cruelty free.

WHAT DO YOU DO AT A LARGE EVENT?
If you're hosting an event with a hundred people or more, it may not be practical for me to roam. I tape three large menus to a table, displaying a variety of balloon animals, hats, and toys, that can be made quickly, to keep lines moving fast. I ask $100 an hour, materials are included, and people can ask for as many balloons as they want.

Events in Portland are just $100 an hour!

WHAT DO YOU DO AT A BIRTHDAY?

I show up 15 to 30 minutes after the party starts (that way all your guests have a chance to arrive). I find a spot where kids have started to play, and I quietly make myself a big balloon hat to get their attention... then I begin to twist. The first round is usually animals, then I encourage more active items like hats & costumes. Everyone gets tons of balloons. :)

WHAT'S THE PARTY PACKAGE?
Birthday parties are easy and fun, so I offer a 90-minute party package that includes balloons and face painting, for just $125. It only applies to parties of 25 kids or less, and if your hosting a party outside of Portland, a travel fee of $25 or more may apply. Oh and, I only have two hands, so the balloon/face painting combo isn't available at large events.

DID I SEE YOU AT THAT FESTIVAL?
Maybe. Portland has a variety of outdoor festivals and farmer's markets, and although my weekends are usually booked, I enjoy participating in community events. There are a number of other balloon artists in the city though, and summer festival season is our favorite... what sets me apart from the compition is that I don't use a pump.

OMG! ANSWER YOUR PHONE!!! >:(
People selling stuff love to rip phone numbers off the internet, so I had to remove my number from this site, but I check my emaill regularly, and booking me is simple. Just send me a date, time, and address. Got questions? Email them to me, and I'm happy to answer them all. Want to know how much I charge, or what I do at a party... SCROLL UP. :)

DO YOU HAVE MORE PICTURES?
Of course I do! Most of them are pictures me at a kid's party, twisting a balloon hat, or blowing up a balloon animal... but I thought it'd be fun to liven up the streets of Portland by making balloons for some of my favorite characters. I visited Pioneer Courthouse Square, The Freaky but true Peculiarium, and even former mayor Vera Katz! CAN YOU MAKE BIZARRO BALLOONS?
Bizarro is a genre of literature native to Portland. It's not exactly kid-friendly, but balloon guys don't always entertain kids. I've performed at a number of adult venues and as a member of the PDX creative community, I'm proud to support our local artists by providing for all your Bizarro needs... there's nothing I can't make, so don't be afraid to ask!

ARE BALLOONS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?
Balloons are recommended for kids age five and up. Toddlers tend to pop balloons, which isn't a fun, so if you're hosting a party for kids under five, I suggest we keep things simple... dogs, flowers, swords. Of course I'm more than happy to make balloons for parents at a party, and grownups can ask for anything they want. Don't be Shy!
